Drum Patterns
A drummer to play along with. Pick a groove, set the speed, and press play — then practise, improvise or compose over the top. Every sound is made by the browser itself, so it works offline and stays perfectly in time.
Making the most of it
- Play along. Put on a groove and improvise over it — anything that fits the key sounds better with a beat behind it.
- Find your tempo. Slow it right down to learn a tricky idea, then speed it up once your fingers know the way.
- Feel the metre. Notice how the waltz's three beats swing differently from rock's steady four.
- Write to it. A backing beat keeps your composing honest about rhythm — jot the idea straight into your Composing Journal.
